Reliable Core Cutters was formed in 2000. At that time I was Plant and Engineering Manager at a plastic
converting plant. The core cutter we purchased from a domestic supplier was over-priced, poorly constructed,
broke down frequently, and usually wore out one blade every shift we used it. So I designed my first core
cutter model; the RCC-100. As I began to sell my newly designed core cutter, customer feedback was very
positive.
In 2005, I formed a company called Flexible Packaging Products. This new company provides more products to
the converting industry as well as production operator training, machine process improvement on zipper and
pouching machines, machine repair services, and prototyping services for new products. Our line of
water-filled vacuum testing tanks are used for testing the seal integrity of heat-applied Inno-Lok zippers
to plastic packaging bags used in the food industry. Our testing tanks feature anti-implosion valves,
lighted lids, and they are GFI protected for safe operation.
Although Reliable Core Cutters remains as a business entity with its own website, all billing is done
through our parent company Flexible Packaging Products.
Our biggest asset is new manufacturing equipment design. We are custom core cutter machine builders. Our
core cutters can cut cardboard cores and plastic cores. Our core cutting machines feature circular blades
that are extremely sharp. We also offer ceramic blades and designed a carbide circular blade that easily
saws through 1.25 inch thick cardboard core walls without the usual cloud of dust. We also design and
manufacture special-order core cutters that handle 0.75 inch to 30 inch diameter cores at reasonable prices.
We can do it because we keep our overhead low.
